Victim or Victory, the choice is yours.
Primal Power Women’s Self Defense (PPWSD) is a unique, effective approach to personal
protection training offered to women, based upon the risk level present in today’s domestic
and international environment. Terrorism, car-jacking, rape, bombings, armed robbery, home
invasion burglary, random workplace violence are present everywhere and the risk of being
involved in one or more of these violent and life threatening events is increasing. Fear,
apprehension and denial are not effective tools to address this reality. Personal preparation
is the most potent tool.
The unique PPWSD training system prepares your mind, body and spirit to handle and survive
these events.
PPWSD Elements:
Preparing the Mind and Body-Yoga and Meditation-
The first rule of self defense is environmental awareness-that is knowing what is in you, on
you and around you at all times. Kundalini Yoga is an ancient science from India which was
introduced into the United States in 1969. Using posture, movement, and the breath Kundalini
Yoga physically strengthens the body, increases and fortifies the life force energy and
strengthens the central and parasympathetic nervous system. This process increases the body’s
ability to handle and respond to extreme stress. Meditation creates the ability to stay relaxed
and focused under stress and increases the power of intuition leading to greater environmental
awareness and fast, clear, and precise decision making.
Self Defense Techniques: Applied Martial Arts: The Applied Martial
Arts of PPWSD is based principally on Ed Parker’s system of Kenpo Karate. The course
curriculum is divided into three sections: Escapes; Natural Weapons/Striking; and On
the Ground. Simple techniques are taught to seminar participants to escape assailants,
use natural weapons such as hands, feet, knees and elbows to strike and resist an assailant
and finally participants are taught what to do if an assailant takes you to the ground.
These elements are integrated into a self-defense curriculum to teach potent and effective
techniques to neutralize violent behavior. These techniques are taught in a progressive
sequence from simple to sophisticated, however all techniques are designed for optimum
effectiveness in real life application
Taught by Gurujodha S. Khalsa a fourth degree black belt in Kenpo Karate
with 28 years of martial arts experience. Seminars are typically 2 hours in length and
cost $20.00 per participant..
